GORONTALO CITY, Kominfotik – Provincial Government held a coordination meeting to discuss preparation for the Ketupat Festival and Halalbihalal at Huyula Room, Gorontalo Governor’s Office on Wednesday (5/3/2025).

After the Eid al-Fitr 1446 H, the provincial gov’t annually holds two social events such as Ketupat Festival and Halalbihalal. The Gorontalo Provincial Gov’t will organize these two event by held a coordination meeting. The Provincial secretary, Sofian Ibrahim uttered that these events are part of the gov’t’s duties and also serves as a moment to strengthen community ties especially in Gorontalo Province.

The organizing committee has a concept and present series of events, it will begin with a prayer and will be followed by a Jaton-Gorontalo traditional performing art and specific culinary named ketupat. As the main attraction, the committee will hold buffalo and cart horse races.
In addition to the Ketupat Festival, the Gov’t will also host a Halalbihalal event for Eid al-Fitr. This gathering is expected to bring togetherness among community leaders, traditional and religious figures, the Forkopimda ranks and any other society elements including Gorontalo people living outside the region.

According to Gov. Gusnar it is such a way to strengthen more our unity in among Gorontalo people, local gov’t, stakeholders and others.
