JAKARTA, Diskominfotik – Indonesia Fashion Week 2023 ended officially, sunday (26/2/2023). The closing show was marked by the performance of Gorontalo designers for a full day entitled “Gorontalo’s Day”.
Some indicators that put Gorontalo Province successful in introducing karawo embroidered cloth on the national scene. In particular, firstly, this is the first time that the Gorontalo karawo have been specially introduced during the 10 times of Indonesia Fashion Week.
“Secondly, IFW 2023 succeeded in forming the Gorontalo Association of Indonesian Entrepreneurs and Fashion Designers (APPMI). Thirdly, Gorontalo fashion won the Indonesia Youth Fashion Designer Competition (IYFDC), the Head of Bank of Indonesia Gorontalo, Dian Nugraha uttered.
In this occasion, the Acting Gorontalo governor delivered his gratitude to APPMI and all parties who had successfully held IFW 2023. With the theme “Sagara from the East”, the event successfully lifted the karawo embroidered cloth as a high-value art product.
“Karawo embroidery is not only such a craft product but as an art product. Karawo is art, an art product that is now in line with batik, sasak weaving and Batak ulos cloth,” Hamka delivered.
On this occasion, the acting of Gorontalo governor was accompanied by his wife handed over a plaque and certificate of appreciation to those who had succeeded in IFW 2023.
