Gorontalo City, Kominfotik- The Chairperson of Gorontalo Province Dekranasda (Regional National Crafts Council) drg. Gamaria Purnamawati Monoarfa boosts Karawo as an Icon of Gorontalo creative economy in fashion industry.
“it is such an important thing for us to develop Karawo embroidery due to enhance the value of the creative economy and becoming prominence,” Gamaria uttered.
We create some programs due to increase the creativity of Karawo designers and craftswomen, in strengthening of Karawo designers and craftwomen in the context of participating in Indonesia Fashion Week in Jakarta. The last is to conduct mix and match training by presenting professional sources in the fashion industry
“If anyone ask a question whether poverty rate can be reduced from the tourism sector? Insyaa Allah, absolutely we can. In addition to the tourism sector, all of these sectors must work hard to fight poverty. So we should work together to realize it for our Gorontalo Province,” the wife of the acting governor expressed.
Rebranding tourism and the creative economy as a source of growth for Gorontalo’s new economy is become the theme of this coordination meeting. In addition to Gamaria, the Assistant Deputy of the Ministry of Tourism was the guest speaker in this meeting.
