Bubohu Religious Tourism Village, Runner-Up at Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) 2021

JAKARTA, Kominfotik – Bubohu Religious Tourism in Gorontalo has inscribed the achievement as the runner-up for
the Developing Tourism Village category. which managed to come out as the second national winner in the Developing Tourism Village category at the 2021 Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI).

“Alhamdulillah Thanks God, Bubohu Religious Tourism Village was being the runner-up on ADWI 2021. This is a truly extraordinary achievement,” vice Governor H. Idris Rahim conveyed after attending the 2021 ADWI Night at Ciputra Artpreneur, Jakarta, Tuesday (7/12/2021).

Idris delivered that the achievement was due to a hard work, synergy, and collaboration between the Gorontalo Province and Gorontalo Regency Tourism Offices, the village administration, tourism awareness groups, and the entire Bongo Village community. Vice Governor also hopes that this achievement can motivate other villages to develop their potential for the welfare of the community.

“I hope it doesn’t just come to this competition. But it must continue so that the Bubohu Religious Tourism Village is increasingly global and attracts tourists, both domestic and international, to come to visit,” Idris explained.

The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, who represented President Joko Widodo in his remarks on ADWI Night, previsiously delivered that tourist villages were very important because in the future what the government was pushing for during the COVID-19 pandemic were domestic tourists. The Coordinating Minister for the Economy explained that the integrated development of the tourism sector encourages the transformation of village culture and economy.

“in every villages certainly understands their own potential to produce high productivity through community activities. Tonight’s award creates a classy, ​​competitive, and sustainable village. On behalf of the President, I appreciate the holding of this ADWI night as a momentum for the development of tourism villages, especially in the context of national economic recovery,” he added. ADWI 2021 was attended by 1,831 villages from 34 provinces. The ADWI assessment includes seven categories, namely the application of CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability), digital villages, souvenirs, tourist attractions, creative content, homestays, and toilets. For the success of Gorontalo being the runner-up for the Developing Tourism Village category at ADWI 2021, Bubohu Religious Tourism Village received a prize of 30 million rupiahs. The awards and prizes were received by the Head of Pokdarwis Bongo Village, Muhlis Panai.
