
GORONTALO REGENCY, Kominfotik – During a rice harvest event, Governor Gusnar distributed agricultural assistance which was also combined with a socialization program on purchasing unhusked rice, rice, and corn in Suka Makmur Utara Village, Tolangohula sub sistrict, Gorontalo Regency, on wednesday (March 19, 2025).
In order to boost rice and corn production, Governor Gusnar stated on his remarks that Gorontalo gov’t distributed amounted to IDR 1.078 billion, consisting of IDR 871 million for rice seeds and IDR 207 million for corn seeds in Tolangohula sub district covers 2,600 hectares of farmland, while the corn seed assistance is for 245 hectares.
Governor Gusnar addes that this year, the Ministry of Agriculture has allocated IDR 8.577 billion for rice seed assistance in Gorontalo Province, covering 24,815 hectares of land. Meanwhile, the corn seed assistance amounts to IDR 11.496 billion for 17,357 hectares.
Governor also added while in a dialogue session with farmers, that Gov’t’s program for purchasing unhusked rice, rice, and corn through Bulog (the national food office). The government has set the purchase price which are very beneficial for farmers such as dried milled unhusked rice at IDR 6,500 per kg, with a transportation subsidy of IDR 800 per kg for delivery to mills. For corn, Bulog will buy it at IDR 5,500 per kg with 14% moisture content.
Last session, governor received farmer’s complaint issues related to seeds, fertilizers, corn moisture content, infrastructure, human resource development, and illegal mining activities that cause irrigation sedimentation.
