GORONTALO CITY, Kominfotik – Governor Gusnar Ismail has successfully overcome farmers’s concern regarding the drop in unhulled rice and corn prices during harvest season. This initiative reflects his commitment agro-maritime development.
According to Gov.Gusnar this will be a good news for farmers He delivered this after meeting with the Head of Bulog for North Sulawesi-Gorontalo (SulutGo) at the governor’s residence on Monday (March 10, 2025).
Bulog will buy unhulled rice at IDR 6,500 per kg, with an additional IDR 800 per kg for transportation fee added to the milling facility. Meanwhile, corn with 14% moisture content will be purchased at IDR 5,500 per kg. Further, Bulog SulutGo will coordinate with relevant parties to absorb farmers’s harvest. Bulog SulutGo’s head, Ermin Tora expressed that this would encourage more farmers to cultivate corn, ultimately supporting self-sufficiency in production. He also uttered that his side will coordinate to begin purchasing corn soon.
