Gorontalo City, Kominfotik – On Monday, (6/1/2025), Gorontalo City launched the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. In the initial phase, 14 schools from early childhood education (PAUD) to senior high school (SMA) have been selected as beneficiaries of this program, benefiting a total of 2,882 students and 118 pregnant women.

Brigadier General TNI Hari Pahlawantoro, Commander of Korem 133/Nani Wartabone, explained that the MBG program in Gorontalo Province will target 2,863 schools and 262,800 students. The distribution will be carried out in phases, starting with the preparation of the Nutritious Meal Service Unit (SPPG). In Gorontalo City, 14 SPPG points will be established, while across Gorontalo Province, a total of 99 points will be built to serve the larger student population.
On-site observation at SDN 74 revealed that the menu provided today is quite nutritious, consisting of white rice, sweet soy chicken, fried tofu, cap cay vegetables, and watermelon. The menu will vary daily, including the provision of milk, which is currently using carton milk due to the lack of fresh milk supply in Gorontalo.
The Provincial secretary, Sofian Ibrahim emphasized that the local government will continue to coordinate with the central government, including the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Home Affairs, to support the success of this program, particularly in terms of providing regional budget (APBD) support.
