Sofian Ibrahim was being honored as a speaker at the International  seminar City-to-City Collaboration for Zero Carbon Society in Tokyo, Japan.

The activity aims to be a forum for exchanging thoughts and ideas related to the phenomenon of climate change, mitigation for advanced prevention.

The Provincial Secretary Sofian Ibrahim conveyed in front of the forum how Gorontalo province’s effort in reducing emissions from glass production due to localise the sustainable development goals

Sofian also expressed that Ways to reduce emissions from glass production, one of them is the arrangement of the Regional Action Plan on Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) document which was approved by the Governor’s Decree Number  185/20/IB/2012, involving stakeholders regional apparatus, elements of universities, NGOs, BUMN / BUMD and community organizations

In addition, the Provincial administration recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ehime Prefecture – Japan in order to realize a carbonless society.

On that occasion there were also VIP guest representatives from many countries such as the Mayor of Renca – Chile, Governor of Airai – Palau Islands, Vice Governor of Ehime – Japan and Vice Minister of Environment of Malaysia.
