Bone Bolango Regency, Kominfo – Gorontalo Governor Rusli Habibie kept hope to go home to Solo, Central Java on Eid al-Fitr 1442H. He conducted this to set a good example for his people in Gorontalo Province regarding the central government’s policy which prohibits residents from returning to Eid al-Fitr.

Solo is the hometown of his wife Idah Syahidah. Usually, Rusli brings his family “going home” on the third day of Eid to be able to stay in touch with his mother-in-law and relatives there.

“ I can’t go home, I have to be able to set a good example. Usually on the third day, I went home to Solo with my wife and family to visit my parents-in-law. I have to join the government policy, so I can’t, ” uttered Governor Rusli when he was met after participating in an offroad on the Bulango River, Bone Bolango Regency, Sunday. (16/5/2021).

The governors of the two periods considered that public awareness of following the government’s directions to break the covid-19 chain was good enough. Local government and Forkopimda as well considered to have carried out the steps needed to prevent the transmission of the covid-19 virus.

“ I checked with some regents and  Kapolres of several tourist attractions were closed a few days ago. Minanga Beach, Saronde Island, Botutonuo are all closed. I thank to the people of Gorontalo according to the policies of the central, provincial and regional governments, “Governor Rusli added.

After the Eid holiday, Governor Rusli is going to start a work routine. On monday there will be three agendas that he planned to do followed. In the morning, Rusli chaired a coordination and evaluation meeting with the OPD (provincial working units) leadership, followed by a coordination and evaluation meeting on the implementation of covid-19 vaccination and finally a virtual coordination meeting with the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.
