Gorontalo City, Kominfotik – The Vice Governor of Gorontalo, Idah Syahidah Rusli Habibie, emphasized the importance of strengthening rehabilitation as part of the efforts to save the nation’s generation from the threat of narcotics abuse. She stated this while opening the Coordination Meeting for the Sustainable Rehabilitation Program held by BNNP Gorontalo, which was paired with the signing of a cooperation agreement with rehabilitation partner institutions at the BNNP Office on Monday (18/5/2026).
According to Vice Governor Idah, narcotics issues cannot be resolved through legal approaches alone; they also require sustainable and humane rehabilitation services for narcotics users and addicts.
The Vice Governor also highlighted that the strong social stigma against narcotics survivors remains a major barrier for them to be re-accepted into their families, education, and the workforce. She noted that successful rehabilitation is heavily influenced by social support and a conducive environment.
Meanwhile, the Head of Gorontalo BNNP, Brigadier General Sri Bardiaty, stated that rehabilitation is a crucial pillar in the strategy for drug countermeasures that prioritizes humanitarian values through the spirit of War on Drugs for Humanity.

She added that strengthening coordination and synergy with all stakeholders, particularly rehabilitation partner institutions, is necessary so that rehabilitation services can run more effectively, measurably, and sustainably.
The rehabilitation partner institutions that signed the cooperation agreement with BNNP Gorontalo include Toto Kabila Hospital, Ainun Habibie Hospital, Boliyohuto Hospital, and Tombulilato Hospital. Additionally, participating community health centers include Tabongo Puskesmas, Kota Tengah Puskesmas, Tilamuta Puskesmas, Paguat Puskesmas, and Molingkapoto Puskesmas.
The signing of this cooperation agreement marks a significant step forward in strengthening the narcotics rehabilitation service network across Gorontalo Province.
