
Balikpapan City, Kominfotik – At the BSCC Dome in Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan was held the 45th Anniversary Exhibition of the National Crafts Council (Dekranas) and Karawo embroidered fabric attracted visitors’ attention there (July 9, 2025).
The Chairperson of the Provincial Dekranasda, Nani Ismail Mokodongan attended this event and stated that a total of 35 million IDR in the second day.transaction for Gorontalo Dekranasda including those from Gorontalo. Karawo embroidered fabrics—presented in various forms such as shirts, dresses, bags, and more and ttracted strong interest from buyers.
In this occasion, the Chairperson of central Dekranas Selvi Ananda, stated that the important role of Dekranas as a unifying home for artisans across Indonesia. She also asked all Dekranasda leaders to take an active role in supporting small artisans in order to gain equal market access.
Selvi also highlighted the importance of adapting to the digital era and securing access to capital to comprehensively develop craft-based MSMEs.
According to Selvi, Dekranas is not only for the central government, but for all of us. We must support artisans to access wider markets, help them level up, and enable them to sell their products both offline and online.
She also expressed appreciation for the collaboration of all parties, especially the East Kalimantan Provincial Gov’t and the Balikpapan City, which hosted this event.
She also added that today, Dekranas remains committed to assist local artisans and compete in global markets
