Gorontalo City, Kominfotik – The Gorontalo Provincial Government continues to reorganize infrastructure in urban areas. One such project is the construction of sidewalks and road facilities along Jalan Cokroaminoto, Tanggidaa. This restructuring directly impacts the rearrangement of the parking area, especially in front of Gorontalo Mall, which has been a location with heavy traffic congestion.

This matter was discussed at a meeting of the Gorontalo Provincial Road Traffic and Transportation Forum (LLAJ), led directly by Regional Secretary Sofian Ibrahim, at the Inspectorate Meeting Room on Friday, October 3, 2025. The meeting, which was attended by relevant agencies, also included the parking attendants (juru parkir) from the Gorontalo Mall area.

Sofian emphasized that the area in front of the Mall is no longer permitted to be a parking location. This is consistent with the installation of road markings and traffic signs that will be implemented after the construction project is completed.

Sofian added that the government is not only enforcing order but also preparing solutions so that the community, especially the parking attendants, still have a space to earn a living.

The government will reorganize the area around the Mall based on the design from the Public Works (PU) Agency. This plan includes the construction of sidewalks or pedestrian ways and the creation of special queuing lanes for bentor (motorized pedicabs). With this new design, the area around the Mall is expected to become more orderly and comfortable for both road users and shopping center visitors.

Meanwhile, the response from the community, particularly the parking attendants, was considered quite positive. They understood the explanation given by the government and did not raise many questions, indicating their acceptance of the reorganization plan.
