​Gorontalo City, Kominfotik – Governor Gusnar Ismail has emphasized the importance of strengthening public information within hospital environments through the appointment of designated spokespersons. According to him, spokespersons are necessary to provide quick responses and accurate explanations whenever health service issues arise within the community.

​”Speed is essential because otherwise, the public tends to be swayed by opinions. And if it takes two or three days, the issue becomes stale and no longer captures interest,” Gusnar stressed while attending the inauguration of the Regional Board of the Indonesian Hospital Association (PERSI) and the Indonesian Hospital Ethics Honorary Council (MAKERSI) for the 2026–2030 term at the Azlea Convention Center, Monday (14/9/2026).

​Gusnar stated that the current strategic environment has shifted alongside the strengthening of freedom of expression and digital developments. These conditions allow information regarding hospital services to spread rapidly and shape public opinion.

​Consequently, he urged hospitals to establish dedicated units handling both legal aspects and public communication. Such divisions are deemed vital to ensure that any issue is addressed based on accurate information and promptly communicated to the public.

​Gusnar added that the strengthening of the spokesperson function is also being promoted within the Gorontalo Provincial Government. Every regional apparatus organization is being directed to have a spokesperson so that service issues can be addressed immediately whenever inaccurate information appears in the public sphere.

​It is hoped that PERSI, in collaboration with local governments, can build a stronger communication system while maintaining the professionalism of hospitals in delivering basic healthcare services to the community.
