Gorontalo City, Kominfotik — Provincial Secretary, Sofian Ibrahim, emphasized the importance of strengthening education human resources when opening the Prospective School Principal Candidate (BCKS) Training APBD 2025 at the Aston Hotel Gorontalo City on Sunday (11/16/2025). He referred to the training as an initial step to prepare teachers to become competent school leaders.
According to him, improving the quality of human resources is the key to educational success in the region. Therefore, the government continues to encourage various competency development programs so that prospective school principals can meet the challenges of future education.
In his speech, Sofian expressed gratitude for being able to attend with the educators who are the spearhead of improving the quality of regional human resources. He asserted that this training is an initial step for participants to prepare themselves for the position of school principal.
He explained that the process of appointing school principals is very strict, including ensuring candidates have a license and the BCKS certificate. Of the dozens of applicants who passed the administration, only 20 selected participants were chosen for this year’s training.
Sofian also emphasized that improving HR quality is the main priority of the Gorontalo Provincial Government until 2029. This effort runs in line with the development of the agromaritime, tourism, MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises), and infrastructure sectors.
Sofian hopes that all participants can maximize the training so that their names can be included in the list of prospective school principals in the upcoming designation. He reminded them that this training is only one of the requirements, so participants must still complete other requirements.
At the end of his speech, Sofian expressed his appreciation to the Department of Education and Culture, the Ministry of National Education, and all resource persons who supported the implementation of this training. He hopes that similar activities can continue to be expanded so that more prospective school leaders are ready to bring positive change to the world of education in Gorontalo.
