Gorontalo City, Kominfotik – The Gorontalo Provincial Government will begin conducting a potential and competency assessment of civil servants (ASN) as the initial step in implementing talent management and the merit system within the bureaucracy. This activity is a vital part of bureaucratic reform efforts to ensure the placement of Civil Servants is more objective and performance-based.

In his statement, Gorontalo Provincial Regional Secretary Sofian Ibrahim explained that the assessment will be conducted on November 6, 7, and 10, 2025. Participants will consist of high-ranking officials (Echelon II), administrators (Echelon III), supervisors (Echelon IV), and a number of functional officials.

”Through this assessment, we want to update the profile data of Civil Servants, not only in terms of job history and education but also their potential and competencies,” said Sofian when interviewed after the socialization on the implementation of TPP assessment, reduction, postponement, and information system, and the socialization of the ‘ASN of the Month’ award within the Gorontalo provincial government environment at the Governor’s Official Residence Hall on Tuesday (4/11/2025).

According to Sofian’s explanation, the assessment results will be used to compile an ASN talent map integrated into the SIM ASN system. With this map, the Governor can place officials according to their respective abilities and potential, making assignment policies more transparent and fair.

Head of the Gorontalo Provincial BKD (Regional Personnel Agency), Rifli Katili, added that the assessment will be carried out in two stages. The first stage takes place on November 6, 7, and 10 at the BKN Regional Manado UPT, while the second stage is scheduled after November 20, 2025, for participants who were unable to attend the first stage.

In addition to the assessment, the regional government is also preparing the ‘ASN of the Month’ program as a form of appreciation for high-achieving Civil Servants. This program is designed to foster a work culture that is productive, disciplined, and results-oriented.
