Gorontalo City, Kominfotik – Gorontalo Provincial Government held event of Khatam Al Qur’an at three official residences such as governor, vice governor, and provincial secretary’s residence. The recitation Qur’an was officially started on 9th day of Ramadan and closed at Governor Gusnar’s residence on thursday (March 20, 2025).

Governor Gusnar on his remarks expressed that several aspirations related to religious programs among them such as the construction of an Islamic center or grand mosque in Gorontalo and establishing a hajj embarkation point in Gorontalo, which is currently being pursued, and the digitization of the Qur’an in the Gorontalo language, a project he had previously initiated but temporarily postponed. He also encouraged residents to fully support to make the dream come true.

Lastly, Governor Gusnar Ismail expressed his desire to gather all religious study groups (Majelis Taklim) across Gorontalo Province, noting that such an initiative had never been formally organized before.

The Qur’an recitation (Tadarus) is a regular Ramadan activity for the Gorontalo Provincial Government. This year, each official residence hosted eight recitation groups, including some Majelis Taklim accros the city and the Association of Qur’an Reciters and Memorizers.

The program also involved mentors from the Provincial Institute for Qur’an Recitation Development (LPTQ). On this occasion, Governor Gusnar was also accompanied by the Provincial PKK’s chairwoman Nani Ismail Mokodongan, handed over souvenir packages and prayer equipment to all attendees.
