Gorontalo City, Kominfotik –The Government of Indonesia initiatives to develop blue economy in Indonesia through LAUTRA (Oceans for Prosperity. Program). Gorontalo is one of the twelve provinces was being pursued to be developed through this program.
In developing a blue economy will enhance substantial investments and policy strategy that build on these initiative programs.
The LAUTRA program consists of three main components, such as: infrastructure development, community development and funding.
Why Gorontalo, according to the Government of Indonesia, Gorontalo’s marine and coastal ecosystems are unique and if not managed well, could undermine the potential. Not all locations in Indonesia are passed by whale sharks. This is a gift from the creator that must be managed well and bring benefits to the people in Gorontalo. In Boalemo Regency we have Bajo tribe and Torosiaje Village in Pohuwato regency who live in coastal areas.
