North Gorontalo Regency, Kominfotik – The government’s commitment to strengthening religious education continues to be realized through support for local Al-Qur’an education institutions. This was reflected in the visit of the Vice Governor of Gorontalo, Idah Syahidah Rusli Habibie, to the Syahidah Al-Qur’an Education Center (TPQ Syahidah) in Titidu Village, Kwandang District, North Gorontalo Regency, on Friday (27/2/2026).
Amidst the atmosphere of Ramadan, the Vice Governor gathered with students (santri), parents, and the management of TPQ Syahidah, while also participating in a communal iftar (breaking of the fast), which has become an annual tradition for the institution.

A Humble Beginning
TPQ Syahidah was pioneered in 2009, back when Idah served as the Chairperson of the North Gorontalo PKK. Starting from a single, simple room, the institution grew through land endowments (wakaf), assistance from the Gorontalo Provincial Government, the North Gorontalo Regency Government, and various donors. Currently, TPQ Syahidah nurtures 100 active students.
According to Idah, over the span of 17 years, TPQ Syahidah has produced many graduates who have grown into a generation to be proud of. She hopes that the students currently studying can remain enthusiastic about achieving their dreams.
Her Message to Students: “You must have big dreams. Respect your parents, love one another, and become pious children (saleh and salehah). God willing, if your character is good, your future will be good.”
A Call to Parents: The Vice Governor also invited parents to continue playing an active role in guiding their children in both formal and religious education.
Support from Baznas
During the visit, Idah Syahidah was accompanied by the Head of Baznas Gorontalo Province, Hamka Arbi, who also handed over assistance in the form of cash for 100 students and 25 copies of the Al-Qur’an to support learning activities at TPQ Syahidah.
