Idah Urges Acceleration of 136 Service Units to Ensure Equitable Free Nutritious Meal Distribution in 2026

Vice Governor Idah expressed her hope that this acceleration will ensure all units are fulfilled soon, allowing the 2026 MBG Program to run optimally and reach even the most remote areas.

Challenges and Economic Impact
The Vice Governor acknowledged the complexity of implementing the MBG program, citing several logistical challenges:
Food Supply: Ensuring the availability of quality raw ingredients.
Logistics: Preparing meal trays (ompreng), cooking equipment, and distribution tools.
However, she also highlighted the significant economic opportunities created by the program. Each SPPG kitchen serving approximately 3,000 beneficiaries can employ up to 20 local workers.
”Once all 136 SPPG units are operational, thousands of workers will be absorbed into the workforce, positively impacting the regional economy and reducing unemployment in Gorontalo,” she explained.
Distribution of Operational Units
Currently, the 37 operational SPPG units are distributed as follows:
Gorontalo Regency: 18 units
Gorontalo City: 8 units
Boalemo Regency: 3 units
Bone Bolango Regency: 3 units
Pohuwato Regency: 3 units
North Gorontalo Regency: 2 units
