JAKARTA CITY, Kominfotik – Gorontalo Governor Gusnar Ismail met with the CEO of Garuda Indonesia, TNI (Ret.) Glenny Kairupan, in Jakarta on Wednesday (11/19/2025). The meeting between the two was warm, especially since Glenny Kairupan was once Gusnar’s lecturer during his education at Lemhannas (National Resilience Institute).

During the meeting, Governor Gusnar explained that Gorontalo is currently preparing to welcome the momentum of the 17th National Farmers and Fishermen Week (Penas) in 2026. Penas XVII is expected to be attended by approximately 30,000 participants.

”Thousands of participants from all over Indonesia are expected to come, so the need for adequate air fleet availability is a major concern for the regional government,” said Governor Gusnar.

CEO Glenny Kairupan welcomed the presentation. Glenny demonstrated a commitment to supporting the smooth air mobility during the implementation of the national event.

The 17th National Farmers and Fishermen Week will carry the theme “Technological Transformation in Supporting National Food Self-Sufficiency.” The composition of the participants consists of 70 percent main participants, namely administrators of the Leading Farmers Fishermen Contact (KTNA), farmers, fishermen, administrators of farmer cooperatives, and other related organizations. Meanwhile, accompanying participants and observers from local government elements each make up 15 percent.
