Gorontalo City, Kominfotik – Gorontalo Vice Governor Idah Syahidah Rusli Habibie highlighted a new regulation in the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG) that potentially affects the job security of personnel at the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi – SPPG).

During the evaluation held at the Governor’s Official Residence Hall on Thursday (6/11/2025), Idah explained that 22 SPPGs are currently operational in Gorontalo Province, with a target of an additional 19 units by the end of December. Thus, it is hoped that a total of 41 SPPGs will be fully operational across Gorontalo by the end of the year.

”President Prabowo’s hope is that all school children can benefit from the MBG program no later than February 2026. Therefore, all parties need to accelerate the process of kitchen construction and SPPG operations to achieve this target,” Idah explained.

As the Chair of the Gorontalo Provincial MBG Task Force, she also highlighted the new rule regarding the distribution of MBG portions. Under the latest policy, each SPPG only receives an allocation of 1,000 to 2,000 portions, a change from the previous year’s allocation of up to 3,000 portions.

Idah added that there are approximately 120 SPPGs in Gorontalo, with 22 of them located in remote areas. For regions not yet categorized as remote, the reduction in portions needs to be re-evaluated to remain consistent with the capacity and readiness of the implementing institutions on the ground.
