GORONTALO CITY, Kominfotik – Gorontalo Governor Gusnar Ismail received the Director of Gorontalo Open University (Universitas Terbuka – UT), Safriansyah, at the Governor’s official residence on Thursday (6/11/2025). This meeting signals a synergistic step between the Gorontalo Provincial Government and higher education to strengthen the region’s human resources.
The Director of UT Gorontalo emphasized that the open campus provides a space for civil servants (ASN), teachers, and village officials to continue their education without leaving their jobs. UT Gorontalo offers various majors grouped into two main categories: Education and Non-Education.
”We want to build a culture of lifelong learning: studying while working and working while studying,” said Safriansyah.
Meanwhile, Governor Gusnar Ismail positively welcomed UT’s commitment to improving the quality of Gorontalo’s human resources. This is in line with the flagship program of the Gorontalo Provincial Government under the leadership of Governor Gusnar Ismail and Vice Governor Idah Syahidah Rusli Habibie, which makes improving HR quality one of its development priorities.
Governor Gusnar added that Gorontalo has vast natural resources, but without smart and integrated people, that wealth is meaningless. Therefore, he asserted that Human Resources are the future mine of Gorontalo.
