JAKARTA CITY, Kominfotik – Governor Gusnar Ismail fulfilled his promise to bring the aspirations of Gorontalo State University (UNG) students directly to the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian. Governor Gusnar provided wide opportunities for representatives of the UNG Student Executive Board (BEM) to share their ideas and thoughts during the meeting with Minister Tito Karnavian in Jakarta, Tuesday (9/16/2025).

As previously known, on September 1, 2025, during a demonstration at Hulonthalo Indah Roundabout, students voiced several demands, one of which was asking the Governor of Gorontalo to convey their aspirations to the central government. Governor Gusnar, along with the Deputy Governor, the Gorontalo Police Chief, and the Speaker of the Gorontalo Provincial DPRD, who were present at the demonstration, agreed to the students’ request.

At the meeting, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian appreciated and expressed respect for the aspirations delivered by the students. He promised to forward these aspirations of Gorontalo students to President Prabowo Subianto.

The meeting between Governor Gusnar Ismail and Minister Tito Karnavian was also attended by the Speaker of the Gorontalo Provincial DPRD, Idrus M. Thomas Mopili. Minister Tito Karnavian was accompanied by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Tomsi Tohir, and Inspector General Sang Made Mahendra Jaya.
