Gorontalo City Kominfotik – During the coordination and evaluation meeting on the absorption of the 2025 State and Regional Budgets for the 1st quarter at the Aston Hotel Gorontalo, Provincial secretary Sofian Ibrahim conveyed that in line with the five programs of President Prabowo, the implementation progress such as Free Nutritious Meals, Red and White Village/sub-district Operation, Sekolah Rakyat (community school), Free Health Check-up, and the Garuda School. which is carried out in Gorontalo.Monday. (23/6/2025).

In this occasion, Sofian stated that the Free Nutritious Meals program is targeted to 279,140 students across all education levels. six Nutrition Food Supply Units have been established, currently serving 15,567 students from 88 schools

Regarding the Red and White Village/Sub-district Operation program, Gorontalo is among the regions with the fastest progress. All village and sub-district meetings have been 100 percent completed, and as of June 22, 2025, 72 percent of village and sub-district cooperatives in Gorontalo get legal status. The remaining cooperatives are targeted for legalization by the end of this month.

Sofian also reported that Gorontalo District has the highest number of legalized cooperatives, with 169 out of 205 officially registered. This is followed by Bone Bolango (99 out of 165), North Gorontalo (85 out of 123), Pohuwato (80 out of 108), Boalemo (55 out of 100), and Gorontalo City (35 out of 50 cooperatives).

Meanwhile, the People’s School program is still facing administrative challenges, particularly regarding land criteria set by the Ministry of Social Affairs. So far, only the Provincial Gov’t and Bone Bolango regency have proposed school locations, but none have met the minimum land area requirements.

For health sector, reported thst Gorontalo has shown significant achievement through the Free Health Check-up program. Out of the 157,422 targeted residents, 153,071 have been examined—equivalent to 97 percent coverage. This places Gorontalo in third place nationally, behind Central Java and East Java.
Key findings from the check-ups include:

35.8% of individuals are obese

19.9% suffer from hypertension

16.1% are active smokers

14 people tested reactive for HIV out of 2,712 examined

Other findings include indications of cancer, tuberculosis (TB), and various health issues among the elderly, toddlers, and newborns.

Additionally, Boalemo regency has proposed the construction of the Garuda School on a 16.9-hectare plot of land. The administrative process is still ongoing, and Gov. Gusnar has signed a commitment letter for land provision. The school is expected to complement Insan Cendekia High School as a center of excellence in education for Gorontalo Province.

Sofian concluded by reaffirming the Provincial Gov’t’s commitment to accelerating the implementation of the five national priority programs, as a continuous effort to improve community welfare comprehensively and sustainably.
