Gorontalo Regency, Kominfotik – Today, 52 tons of frozen coconut milk around IDR 1.6 billion were successfully shipped directly from Gorontalo to China. This historic moment is an initial export to international market and such a milestone.
The export was carried out by Millenium Agroindo Selebes Company at the Transcontinent Hub office in on Tibawa sub district, Gorontalo Regency. (June 19, 2025). On this occasion, there were Governor Gusnar Ismail, Vice Gov. Idah Syahidah Rusli Habibie, CEO of Transcontinent company, Ismail Rashid, officials from Customs, the Gorontalo Quarantine Agency and other stakeholders.
According to the Gov Gusnar Ismail this export release of frozen coconut milk is a strategic way and an important symbol for the local economy. He also conveyed that the shipping itself without having to go through major ports outside the province and Gov expressed his appreciation to Transcontinent company for providing the Bonded Logistics Center facility, which enables the entire export process including administration, labeling, and shipping to be completed locally and can reduce logistics costs so may speed up delivery time.
In addition, he also hoped that more top Gorontalo products can enter the international market
As we known that Gorontalo is one of Indonesia’s coconut-producing regions but several products have not been optimally developed. such as coconut water, coir fiber, coconut flour, broomsticks, and shells.
Furthermore, Gov.Gusnar stated that based on the data from the first half of 2025, Gorontalo’s export commodities are quite diverse for agricultural sector recorded 129,376 tons of wood pellets, 3,474 tons of grated coconut, and 745 tons of coconut milk. And in the fisheries sector, include 42.63 tons of blood clams, 19.14 tons of Spanish mackerel, and 18.54 tons of tuna. Export destinations include Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, China, Thailand, Japan, and Singapore.
