
North Gorontalo Regency, Kominfotik — Governor Gusnar Ismail did a working visit to the border area between Gorontalo Province and Central Sulawesi Province, an area dividing North Gorontalo Regency and Buol Regency, on tuesday (June 3, 2025). It is aimed to see land condition follow up on interprovincial border discussions, which still have unresolved issues.
Meanwhile, Gov Gusnar when being interviewed stated that based on documentation he brought from a joint meeting between both gov’t, Gorontalo and Central Sulawesi Province. According to him, the document reflects ongoing efforts to resolve the border issue and has been signed by relevant parties, although further discussion at the regional leader level is still needed.
Gusnar also highlighted technical issues faced by local residents, particularly farmers who has land in Central Sulawesi but hold Gorontalo ID cards and it has made it difficult for them to receive subsidized fertilizer .
On that occasion, there was also Vice gov. Idah Syahidah Rusli Habibie also confirmed that those complaints from residents regarding aid restrictions based on land location rather than place of residence.
Due to the regulations, fertilizer aid is given based on the location of the land, not the ID card so the gov’t is seeking a solution. Gov. Gusnar, vice Governor Idah and the ranks continued their visit to several sub-district offices, North Gorontalo Senior High School 4, the Pratama Hospital, and a low-cost market in East Bulontio Village, Sumalata sub district.
