
Gorontalo City, Kominfotik – Due to scholarship program of Provincial Gov’t, today, Gov. Gusnar Ismail delivered three message, he delivered this when chairing a meeting with provincial secretary Sofian Ibrahim and provincial working unit’s heads (21/4/2025).
Governor Gusnar stated that scholarship recipients must be handed over to the low-income communities for undergraduate-master’s and doctoral degree. It is aimed they can support their families after completing their education. Gov. Gusnar also added that gov’t must focus on providing scholarships for Gorontalo residents pursuing undergraduate studies.
Meanwhile, scholarships for master’s and doctoral programs will be directed towards students studying outside the region or abroad.
Talking about majors, Gov’t will determine the relevant majors needed. Not all faculties will be covered, but at least we will prioritize some majorities.
Meanwhile, Acting Bureau’s head of Governance and Public Welfare, Masran Rauf, explained that in 2025, the Gorontalo Provincial Gov’t has allocated approximately IDR 2 billion for general scholarship, 700 students are being recipients with varying amounts: IDR 2.5 million for Undergraduate, IDR 6 million for master, and IDR 15 million for doctoral degree per person. According to Masran, who previously was the head of the Communications and Statistics office expressed responsing the governor’s directives, his ranks will conduct a review and adjust the standard procedure and hopefully by 2026, the scholarship management system will be significantly improved.
