Gorontalo City, Kominfotik – The Gorontalo Provincial Government is beginning to finalize preparations for the development of the “Sekolah Rakyat” (People’s School), as a follow-up to a program initiated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia which is aimed to underprivileged people.
People’s School will be designed as a boarding school, ranging from elementary to high school levels.
Meanwhile, The Provincial Social Affairs Office’s head, Sagita Wartabone, delivered that one of the main requirements from the central gov’t is the land provision at least 6 hectares free of disputes and owned by local gov’t and all educational facilities and construction will be funded by the central gov’t.
Sagita also added that today’s meeting due to preparedness the necessary documents to be discussed at the central government’s desk meeting on April 21. (April 16, 2025).
Sagita mentioned that the land currently being proposed is located in Tunggulo Village, Bone Bolango Regency, it has 3.1 hectares of certified land owned by the Gorontalo Provincial Gov’t, with the potential to expand to 8 hectares in the surrounding area, these were also in line with the statement of provincial secretary Sofian Ibrahim who chaired the meeting, when being interviewed.
