Governor Gusnar Decided not to Abandon the Construction of Bulango Ulu Dam

Gorontalo City, Kominfotik – Gorontalo Governor Gusnar Ismail convinced that one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) which began in 2019,

Bulango Ulu Dam construction will be continued. and it is planned to be filled with water by December or even earlier. He delivered this while responding questions from journalist during a press conference at Governor’s Residence on Sunday (March 2, 2025).

Gov.Gusnar also reported the dam progress to the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructur when they was on the same flight to Jakarta city a couple days ago.

In 2024, the Bulango Ulu dam was inspected by Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo, and initially expected to be completed by the end of that year. However, construction is still ongoing.

Now, the Gusnar-Idah government aims to continue the Bulango Ulu construction. As reported that the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure will do working visit to see the progress for make sure
and then he plan to report it soon to the President after his visit to Bulango Ulu Dam.

In addition, Bulango Ulu Dam has a storage capacity of 84.10 million cubic meters (m³). It is expected to supply water to three irrigation areas, such as Alale, Lomaya, and Pilohayanga and the dam will also function as a flood control measure for downstream areas of the Bolango River.
