Gorontalo Regency, Kominfotik- The initial flight of SAM Air with engine Twin Otter DHC 6-300 took off from Djalaluddin Airport to Pohuwato. Sunday (18/2/2024).
Acting Gorontalo Governor Ismail Pakaya expressed that this will be the milestone for Gorontalo aviation.
“on behalf of Gorontalo people I, myself may say gratitute to the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia that during nine months we have already prepared for this ,” Ismail expressed.
On that occasion he also added that an aviation is such an essential thing for business, tourism and trade. It will drive local economy in Gorontalo.
This flight also can assist other region such as the Central Sulawesi and North Sulawesi regions, Manado, which is usually taken approximately 8 to 12 hours, it will be faster, eventhough transit at Bolaang Mongondow airport.
Due to some major airlines such as Batik Air and Garuda Indonesia in Gorontalo have reduced their flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, Ismail hoped that through this aviation SAM air can assist to fulfil the missed-schedule.
